It was about time we did a blog post on City Bird Detroiters. We’ve been coming to this shop for years now and we thought it was time to share it with you. We’re sure many of you may have visited the store already there are others that have not, and let us tell you it is a great one stop shop for gifts especially for out-of-towners.

City Bird opened its doors to Detroit back in 2005 in the Cass Corridor in Midtown. Today it holds products that are made in the midwest from over 200 artists, such as jewelry, greeting cards, candles, apparel and home decor. It was the idea of siblings Andy and Emily to bring design and the city together into this shop.

We consider it to be a one stop shop for perfect Detroit/Michigan themed gifts. A fun fact that we learned about the store is that City Bird is the oldest store in Detroit’s Cass and Canfield shopping district.

With many other shops opening up in the area, City Bird stands its ground as a popular stop for both locals and visitors of Detroit. Next time you’re in the there, make sure to check out the handmade soaps, jewelry and of course not to forget the coffee mugs.
